Bedtime English stories for kids

Bedtime English stories for kids.

          The stupid fish

There used to live three fishes in a pond. They were very intimate friends. They lived very happily and peacefully along with the other fishes of the pond. One day, two fishermen were passing through the road near the pond. The first fisherman said, "we must explore this pond. I think it is filled with fishes." The second one replied , "yes, I agree with you. However, today we must return home. The sun is going to set after a few minutes." The first fisherman then added, "then let's come here tomorrow." Both the fishermen agreed to return to the point on the next day.

The three fishes carefully followed the conversation and informed the others about the impending danger. They became extremely perturbed and some of them even turned hystric. They decided to abandon the pond immediately. Among the three friends, the first and the second friend were very anxious and desired to leave the place as soon as they could. The third fish was, however, are not willing to desert the pond. He said,"this pond is my home. I live here since my birth. I cannot leave this place. Moreover, I don't think the fishermen are going to come. If they don't come it will be wastage of our endeavour and labour.

"his friends tried to convince him, but none of them became successful. The third fish placed many arguments and ask them to leave him alone. In a couple of hours all his friends left the pond. next day, the fisherman returned and caught the fish in their fishing net.
